Rudolph Behnke of Waco passed away Friday, July 24, 2009. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 30, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Rev. Carl Freeto officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Mr. Behnke Rudy was born in 1920 in McLennan County to Rudolph and Johanna Behnke. He attended Crawford Schools and Texas A&M University. During WWII he served with the 14th Air Force; worked for the Postal Service for many years and retired in 1981. Rudy was a longtime member of the Galilean Class of Central United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Elaine, whom he married in 1946; two sisters and one brother. He is survived by his daughter, Sue Behnke; nieces and nephews, Catherine and Fred Lambert, John Hrncir, Celeste and Ronald Moore; and many close friends. The family would like to especially thank the Galilean Class for their love and support. Memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church.
