Ruth Bowers Allen

Ruth Bowers Allen passed away Thursday, September 14, 2023. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 18, 2023, at Waco Memorial Park with Mallory Friedrich officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, September 17, 2023, at the Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home Garden Room in Waco, Texas.

Ruth was born December 2, 1924, in Covington, Texas, to Pendleton and Clara Belle Duty. Ruth graduated from Bruceville Eddy High School and received her associates degree from 4-C Business College. Ruth was blessed to have the love of two great men in her life. In her golden years she and Tom traveled the world and enjoyed many adventures together.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pendleton and Clara Belle Duty; both of her husbands, O.L. Bowers, and Hallet “Tom” Allen; and her son O.L. “Sonny” Bowers.

She is survived by her daughters, Gayle Coward and husband Larry of Hewitt, TX and Becky Jacobs and husband Michael of Midland, TX; Grandchildren Gregory Nodine and wife Amy of McGregor, TX, Michael Nodine and wife Tabitha of China Spring, TX, Clinton Bowers and wife Shari of Wahlberg, TX, Wesley Bowers and significant other Tim McKay of Houston, TX, Amber Seed and husband Blake of Rockwall, TX, and Jeremy Coward of Arlington, TX; Great-grandchildren Kynleigh Clark, Kaylee Nodine, Madison Nodine, Gavin Nodine, William Nodine, Brock Seed, Brooke Seed, Cobie Bowers, Brody Bowers, and Audri Jo Bowers; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved bulldogs.

Pallbearers include Gregory Nodine, Michael Nodine, Clinton Bowers, Wesley Bowers, Michael Jacobs, Tim McKay, Gavin Nodine, and William Nodine.
