Ruth E. Schmid Peevey

RUTH E. SCHMID PEEVEY Ruth E. Schmid Peevey, age 83, of Robinson, died Thursday, May 8, 2003. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Monday, May 12 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Angelo Bertini officiating. Burial will follow at Robinson Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 6pm Sunday, May 11 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 1124 Washington Ave. Mrs. Peevey was born October 17, 1919 in Falls County in the Durango Community to Ernest and Joan Schmid. She married Jake Peevey in 1936 and was married 64 years before his death January 23, 2001. She enjoyed going to garage sales and working with her flowers. She also enjoyed making quilt tops and oil painting. Her husband, parents, a brother and two sisters preceded her in death. Ruth will be missed by her family and the many friends she has made over the years. Ruth is survived by her five children, Robert Peevey and wife, Dorothy of Lorena, Pat Blackwell and husband, C. R. of Robinson, Richard Peevey and wife, Barbara of Bryan, Sally Koester and husband, Johnny of Gatesville, and Douglas Peevey and wife, Johnnie of Gatesville. She is also survived by a sister, Ruby Lee Prather of McKinney, and four brothers, Robert Schmid and wife Annie Ruth of Commerce, Eugene Schmid and wife, Catherine of Princeton, Clarence Schmid and wife, Glenda of Lucas, and Cecil Schmid and wife Katherine of Princeton. Ruth will also be missed by her 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Derek Peevey, Michael Kusler, Kelly Wade Kusler, Christopher Peevey, Brian Peevey, and Scott Pinkston.
