Ruth E. Smiley August 2, 1927 – August 7, 2007 Ruth E. Smiley went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 leaving many friends and family who loved her so much. Graveside services will be at 1:30 pm Thursday, August 9 at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, August 8 at the funeral home. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Adrian N. Smiley. She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Damon, Susan Beatty and husband, Chuck and Katy Snapp and husband, John; her beloved grandchildren, Shelley Spindor, Jason Damon, Clint Beatty, Jennifer Bass, Ashley Aaron, Lance Beatty, Dylan Snapp, Colt Snapp and Brody Snapp; six cherished great grandchildren; sister, Mary Ann Van Zandt; brothers, Barnell Strahan, Donald Strahan and a very large extended family who will miss her dearly. The family wants to offer a special thank you to the Hillcrest Baptist ER staff, Cath Lab and wonderful nurses of the Medical Intensive Care Unit as well as Dr. Andrew Day and Dr. David Brickey.
