Ruth Elaine Malin DeWeese Troop passed away Monday, July 17, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, care, and unwavering love. A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 21, 2023, at Waco Memorial Park in Waco, Texas.
Ruth was born on April 8, 1925, in Pemiscot County, Missouri to father, Marvin E. Malin and mother, Flora Vickers. Ruth's journey through life was marked by an enduring dedication to helping others. As a nurse, she served her community with tireless commitment, touching the lives of countless patients with her healing touch and warm smile. As an active member of the Baptist church, she found solace, strength, and guidance in her relationship with her Savior. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Ruth was a nurturing and devoted mother and grandmother. She poured her heart and soul into raising her children, instilling in them the values of kindness, resilience, and compassion that would guide them throughout their lives.
Ruth is preceded in death by her father, Marvin Malin; her mother, Flora Vickers Malin; her sisters, Elizabeth Chilton and, Claudette Cecil; her husband, Kenneth E. DeWeese and husband, Dale Troop; as well as her daughter, Sherry Elaine DeWeese Craft.
She is survived by her son, Ken M. DeWeese and his wife Ann DeWeese; grandchildren, Kenny DeWeese and his wife Natalie DeWeese, Kelsey DeWeese Malmin and her husband Eric Malmin of Salado, Gina Hunt and her husband Jody Hunt of Lakeway, Austin, and, Cara Della Vedova of Austin; as well as 10 great grandchildren.
