Ruth Garrett Roberts July 13, 1917 - May 5, 2009 Ruth G. Roberts of China Spring passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2009. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 8, at China Spring United Methodist Church with Rev. Allen Grant officiating. Burial will follow at China Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 7 p.m., Thursday, May 7, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Ruth was born July 13, 1917, in Erath, Texas, to Ros and Lenna Garrett. She attended China Spring Schools, was a homemaker and loved working outdoors, especially in her rose garden. Ruth was a loving daughter, wife and mother and will be missed by her family and her dear friends. Ruth was a longtime member of China Spring United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of 75 years, whom she married April 14, 1934, Ben Buddy Roberts and her son, Ray; both of China Spring; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Jim Ditto, Don Stier, Jimmy Bryant, Steve Herbert, Neil Knight and Tom McNamara. Honorary pallbearers are Tommie Long, Allison Burt, Walter Renfro, Jimmy Clark, A.D. Soules and David Reeves. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the China Spring United Methodist Church Building Fund.
