Mrs. Ruth H. Moore of Waco died Monday, April 9, 2001 at a local hospital. Services will be 1:30 PM Thursday, April 12th at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Rev. Tom Robbins and Rev. Robert Cavanaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be 6:00-9:00 PM Wednesday, April 11th at the funeral home. Ruth was a member of Austin Ave. United Methodist Church for 49 years and a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class for 46 years. She taught in the junior dept. for many years and was on the church staff as a visiting layperson for eight years and a charter member of the WMU. Ruth touched so many lives and her friends and family have so many “golden memories” to cherish. Her husband, Roy S. Moore, Sr. in October 1963, her only child, Dr. Roy S. Moore, Jr. in March 2000, and one grandson, Paul Moore, preceded Mrs. Moore in death. Her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Geo. H. Holden, five sisters, Bessie Cates, Emma Krause, Lucille Francis, Pauline Mahan and Evelyn Pierce; two brothers, Richard Holden and C.C. Chick Holden, also preceded her in death. Survivors include: Grandchildren: Diane Moore Holmes and husband, Ralph, William S. Moore and wife, Denise, John Andrew Moore Great grandchildren: Rocky Holmes and Dannielle Holmes Daughter-in-law: Grace Moore, all of Harlingen, Beloved niece: Bettye McGregor of Waco, Two beloved great nieces: Mindy McGregor Milman and husband, Paul of Boston, MA Macy McGregor Holden and husband, Danny of Corinth Beloved nephews: David Chamberlin and wife, Renee of Hide-A-Way Lake Tony Pierce and wife, Judy of Fort Worth Other nieces include: Norma Jean Cook of Moore, OK Mary Lou Travis of Westminster, CO A nephew: Bill Francis of Westminster, CO Also surviving are many great nieces and nephews, all of whom loved her dearly, and a beloved friend, Mrs. Willis McKee, with whom she resided for several years, plus a host of cherished friends. Pallbearers will be David Chamberlin, Tony Pierce, Milton Wilson, Goodson McKee, Chester Carlson, and James R. Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Friendship Class.
