Ruth Jenkins Seeley

SEELEY, RUTH JENKINS Ruth Jenkins Seeley, 82, of Hewitt, died Thursday, March 6, 2003 at a local nursing home. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2003 at First Baptist Church Hewitt with Rev. Roy Marshall officiating. Burial will follow at Bosqueville Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2003 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Ruth, the youngest of 11 children was born January 28, 1921 to B.A. and Laura Jane Jenkins. She grew up and attended school in the Bosqueville and South Bosque areas. Ruth married Louis R. Seeley on February 19, 1954 in Waco. She worked for the City of Hewitt for several years until her retirement. She also has worked as a volunteer at Providence Hospital for 8 years. She faithfully attended the First Baptist Church of Hewitt until her health no longer permitted. While there, she was the first female greeter and attended the Esther Sunday School Class. She loved her family, church and LORD! She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis R. Seeley on February 6, 1986 and son, Tommy Lee Seeley on May 13, 1986. She was the last of 10 brothers and sisters. Survivors include daughters, Cynthia Stuart of Hewitt and Wanda “Jeannie” Ashcraft and husband Rev. Lynn Ashcraft of Orange; Son, Jimmie Joe Helleson and wife Gloria of Waco; Grandsons, Dewayne Helleson and Mike Seeley, Granddaughters, Lynae Sanford, Jana Cotton and Melinda Seeley; 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of the First Baptist Church of Hewitt. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Hewitt, 301 South 1st Street, Hewitt, Texas 76643.
