Sally B. Robinson

June 9, 1930 — July 1, 2023

Sally B. Robinson passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023. A Memorial Service will be 11:00 am, Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Seventh and James Baptist Church with Rev. Erin Conaway officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Friday, July 7, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home.

Sally was born June 9, 1930, in Boston, Massachusetts, to James and Esther Knowlton. Upon graduation from high school in 1948, Sally enrolled in The Garland School a Junior College in Boston, MA, choosing to study senior homemaking. Through a good friend, Sally agreed to go on a blind date to attend a football game accompanied by a West Point cadet. That date with Charles Bryant led to a wedding ceremony in November of 1951. They were married for 54 years, and Sally was a devoted caregiver for her husband, Charlie, during his illnesses.

The newlyweds settled in Waco where Sally was happy as a homemaker and enjoyed cooking for her family and being involved in her children’s lives. On any given day one could find Sally sewing for her children, quilting, or enthralled in a good book. She was active in PTA, a Cub Scout den mother, and a Blue Bird/Camp Fire Girls group leader. When needed she would find herself as a substitute teacher at her children’s elementary school. Sally was a member of Seventh and James Baptist Church for 65 years. As her own children moved into middle and high school, Sally enjoyed being a “Mother” to her church Baylor students, providing a home away from home for those unable to travel home for holidays. Additionally, she was an active member of The Daughters of the American Revolution, Harston Study Club, and many bridge groups.

As the Texas summer heat arrived, Sally looked forward to packing her bags and traveling to her beloved summer home in Sandwich, NH. Great times and memories were made when Sally and her sister, Nancy, would have the pleasure of reuniting and planning daily travel excursions throughout the region together. The stunning fall season with the beautiful display of colorful leaves was Sally’s favorite time to spend in New Hampshire.

Four years after Charlie’s passing, Sally was reunited with a friend from her high school years. Together they began corresponding, then courting while reconnecting through their lifelong friendship where they left off so many years ago. In 2010, Sally and Ken became husband and wife, until Ken’s passing in 2016.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Kenneth L. Robinson, and her first husband, Charles E. Bryant.

She is survived by her son, Charles (Chip) E. Bryant, and wife Jerrie Bryant; daughter, Leslie Cechan; and daughter, Lisa Vickers and husband Joe Vickers; seven grandchildren, Amber Mixon, Randi Shrank, Kelly Waters, Jenny Gonzalez, Clint Cechan, Chris Cechan, Sarah Vickers; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her sister, Nancy Pascoe, and nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Joe Vickers, Bryan Shrank, Lance Mixon, John Gonzalez, Clint Cechan, Chris Cechan, Jacob Clayton, and Anthony Gonzalez.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the many caregivers who enriched Sally’s life.
