Sammie Richey, Jr., 76, of Waco passed away May 27, 2005 at his residence. Services will be at Lakewood Christian Church at 10:00 am, Wednesday, June 1. Visitation will be held 6 – 8 pm, Tuesday, May 31 at the funeral home. There will also be a visitation from 2- 3 pm on Wednesday, June 1, at the Royse City Funeral Home, Royse City, TX. with interment to follow in the Royse City Cemetery. Mr. Richey was born May 5, 1929 to Sam Houston and Fayma Imogene Williams Richey in the Blackland Community, Rockwall County, TX. For 33 years Mr. Richey was in research and development of the aero space industry. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Lee Olin Richey, H.L. Richey, and infant brother Bobbie Glen Richey; and sisters, Betty Jean Richey Christensen and Mildred Iratcabal. Mr. Richey is survived by his wife of 32 years, Teresa Pauline Vella Richey: daughters, Vonda LaRue Richey of San Antonio, Verenda Joye Fuller of Abilene, and Vicky Diann Guzman of Rockwall; brother, Bennie Jack Richey of Nevada; sisters, Ida Preas of San Angelo, Peggy Williams of Rancho Cordova, Ca.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home will be Lonnie Griffith and Jack Harbour. Pallbearers at Royce City Funeral Home will be Charles Fuller, John Wilson Fuller, Tony Guzman, Jonathan Huckabee, Mike Kyzar and Christopher Parman.
