Samuel J. Smith September 9, 1952 – November 22, 2007 Samuel Joe Smith, 55, of Dallas, formerly of McGregor, fought a courageous battle with cancer and went to be with our Lord and Savior Thursday, November 22, 2007. Services will be held Monday, November 26, 11:30 a.m. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Smith officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, November 25, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey in the Garden Room. Sam was born September 9, 1952. He married the love of his life, Donna Cook, on May 25, 1979. He was a successful fabricator of custom automobiles and Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He won numerous awards for his innovative designs. Sam shared his passion for motorcycles with his family, and they traveled the country to attend many national events. Over the years, Sam’s life was filled with many happy memories with family, friends, and especially his grandson, whom he adored. He leaves behind a family rich in their devotion to the Lord, and he will be missed dearly. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his beloved father, Huey P. Smith. He is survived by his wife, Donna; a son, Thomas and his wife, Stephanie; and a grandson Tommy.
