Sandra Cochran Parsons

PARSONS, SANDRA COCHRAN July 14, 1942-February 10, 2006 Sandra Cochran Parsons, 63, or Waco, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2006 at a local nursing home following a courageous battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis-Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, February 13 at Oakwood Cemetery, with Dr. Artie Sudan officiating. Sandra was born to C. W. and Byrd Cochran on July 14, 1942, in Waco. She attended Waco public schools, graduating from Waco High School in 1960. She attended Texas Tech in Lubbock, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education in l964. At Texas Tech, she was an active member of Delta Gamma Sorority. She began working in the business sector soon after college graduation. It was while working for Clifton Manufacturing that she met her future husband, Edward R. Parsons, whom she married on February 15, 1969. Her husband predeceased her on May 7, 2000. Sandra was active in Altrusa and in Delta Gamma Alumnae Group for several years. She was a lifelong Baptist. Following her marriage Sandra changed employment, beginning to specialize in sales in the glass industry. She worked for a number of years for Enhanced Glass and for Binswanger Glass. Even after her disability became apparent, she continued to work and did so until her disability forced her retirement in Spring, 2005. Sandra will be remembered for her sense of humor and for her compassion for those in need. Sandra is survived by a cousin, Martha Findley, of Houston. She leaves behind many close friends.
