Sarah Culberson

Sarah Culberson, of Waco, passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday, February 15, 2005. The celebration of life will be held at 2pm Saturday, February 19 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room with the Rev. David Ruiz officiating, with a reception to follow. Sarah was born April 19, 1939 in Marlin, Texas. She married Bob Sellers on July 4, 1957 in Gatesville, Texas and the couple resided in Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Virginia before moving to Waco in 1994. Sarah was a lifelong student of life and retained her curiosity and intensity for learning until her death, when she was reading Birth of Venus in her favorite chair. Sarah was known as a passionate person who had strong convictions; she was also a compassionate person who adored her family, friends, and her two special cats Annie-Cat and Vicar. Sarah was an avid gardener who took great pleasure in her flowers; she was an outstanding cook who could make a green-chili casserole second to none; and her love of reading through printed page and talking book tapes gave her countless hours of joy. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Glades and W. A. Culberson and an infant brother, William Albert Culberson, Jr. Survivors include her husband, Robert L. Bob Sellers; son, David Kelley Sellers and wife, Beverly of Virginia; sister, Margaret Culberson Morgan and husband, Dr. Mackey Morgan of Waxahachie, Texas; two nieces and two nephews; numerous other relatives and devoted friends. Sarah has requested cremation and she will be released in her beloved countryside of Virginia by her close family.
