Darlene Dougherty August 26, 1931 - April 10, 2014 Sarah Darlene Dougherty of Waco passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends beginning at 12:30 p.m., prior to the service. Darlene was born August 26, 1931, in Lorenzo, Texas, to Frank and Maude Luttrall. She graduated from Stephenville High School in Texas in 1949. She worked for the Texas Highway Department in both Stephenville and Waco. After retiring in 1971, she volunteered in various capacities including for the Red Cross and was a member of the Forum Study Club in Waco. Her greatest joy was spending time with family. Darlene was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Waco. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Donald Luttrall. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Fred Dougherty of Waco; her daughter, Sharon Gardner and husband, Max, of Dallas; son, Gene Stewart of Georgetown; five grandchildren, Courtney Simon and husband, Josh; B.J. Stewart and wife, Charity; Samuel Stewart and wife, Heather; Matthew Gardner, Valerie Nicholas and husband, Brian; seven great grandchildren, Caden Wright, Drew, Bailee, Elizabeth and Micah Stewart, and Brinley and Ella Simon. She is also survived by her sister, Madge Ramsay, and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Memorials may be made to The Arthritis Foundation, 6902 Woodway Dr. Ste. 167, Woodway 76712.
