Sarah Margaret Dyer

DYER, SARAH Sarah Margaret Dyer, 98 of Waco died Monday, June 28, 2004 at a local nursing home. Graveside services will be at 10am Thursday, July 1 at Rosemound Cemetery with the Rev. Dan Roberts officiating. Mrs. Dyer was born January 31, 1906 in Dawson to Earnest Bentley and Lulu Mae Rowe. She was raised in the Methodist Children’s Home after the age of 11. She graduated form Waco High School in 1925. She attended Clarendon College and Baylor University. She taught school at the Methodist Home and in West. She married Oliver G. Dyer in 1930. He preceded her in death in 1992. Mrs. Dyer grew up as a member of Herring Avenue Methodist Church. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Earnest B. Rowe, her sister, Lillian Myers and grandson, Clinton Clark Carpenter. Survivors include daughters, Betty Lou Kanz and husband, Joe of Woodway and Jimmie Sue Carpenter and husband, Clovis of Austin; grandchildren, Kathy Kanz, Keith Kanz and wife, Diane, Ken Kanz and wife, Robin, Debbie Vanous and husband, Gary, and Gibbs Carpenter and wife, Lisa; great grandchildren, Andy and Blake Kanz, Brandon, Cameron and Sarah Vanous, and Caitlin, Whitney and Mason Carpenter.
