SHARON COLTON Sharon Colton, of Hewitt, passed away Friday, Jan. 9, 2004. Memorial services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd., with Rev. Ivan Ker officiating. Visitation will follow in the Garden Room. Mrs. Colton was a lifelong Texas resident, born in Limestone County on Feb. 10, 1939 to Roy and Althea Shinault. She graduated Waco High School in 1957 and was married to Ken Colton from 1958 until his death in 2001. They had two sons, Joe and James, who survive her. After a career as a longtime employee of the Veteran’s Administration, she had retired as the Coordinator of Volunteer Services. Sharon was a woman of high principles, devoted to the happiness and success of her family, who because of her wide range of talents and hobbies, had many dear and fascinating friends. The thankful recipient of a heart transplant in 1999, she lived a second happy life until finally losing her strength to cancer. She is survived by her sons; two sisters, Karon Jackson and Lee Shinault; and four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Joey, Kenny and Eve Colton. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Jackson Sr., Billy Jackson Jr., Joey Colton, Kenny Colton and Brian Chiasson. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Mary Beth Cishek and the Transplant Staff at Austin’s Seton Hospital for their kind and generous support through Sharon’s last days.
