Sherry Lowrie Kuehl

June 15, 1946 — July 16, 2005

Sherry Lowrie Kuehl, of Lorena, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, entered heaven on July 16, 2005 after her valiant struggle with cancer. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 19 at Cogdell United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Danny Niedecken officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, July 18 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Sherry was born June 15, 1946 in Laredo, Texas. She was the administrative assistant to the superintendent of the Lorena ISD. Sherry’s life centered first around her love for the Lord and then centered around her loving husband, children, grandchildren, family, and wonderful friends. Sherry was married to the late John Austin and out of that marriage was born three beautiful daughters, Michele, Melony, and Shannon. She then married Gene Kuehl on February 21, 1981. When Gene entered her life he blessed her with three more beautiful daughters, Dyana, Gena, and Carla. Out of her incredible marriage to Gene, they were again blessed with a son, Matthew. Her favorite things in life were gardening, music, her beautiful grandchildren and so much more. Sherry was preceded in death by her grandparents, George and Myrtle Jones and her wonderful mother, Wanda Beaty. Survivors include her husband, Gene; her son, Matthew Kuehl; daughters, Michele Austin of Lorena; Dyana and Eddie Baker of Woodway; Gena and Rusty Hunter of Lorena; Carla and Ken Sykora of West, Melony and Gary Durham of Lorena; Shannon and Zach Sanders of Lorena; father, C. W. Beaty of Waco; sister, Helen Lowrie Watson of Kentucky; brothers, George Lowrie and Thurston Lowrie, both of Waco; aunts, Claudette Ficklin of Waco and Shirley Stephens of Alpine; and grandchildren, Austin, Lindsay, Erika, Samantha, David, Chelsea, Cameron, Kyler, Sterling, Avery, Grant, Brent, Cody, Hayden, Makalynn, and Ava Grace. Pallbearers will be Eddie Baker, Jeremy Carson, Gary Durham, Brian Ficklin, Rusty Hunter, Zach Sanders, and Ken Sykora. The family wishes to extend their overwhelming gratitude to all who lovingly gave of their prayers, time, meals, cards, and flowers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lorena United Methodist Church Family Life Building Fund, P. O. Box 86, Lorena, TX, 76655.
