Sheryl Kennedy Baughman

Sheryl Kennedy Baughman March 4, 1921 January 22, 2008 Sheryl Kennedy Baughman, 86, of Waco, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at a local hospital. Memorial graveside services will be Saturday, January 26, at 2:00 p.m. at Waco Memorial Park with Rev. Carl Freeto officiating. Visitation with family and friends will be Friday, January 25, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home in the Garden Room. Sheryl was born March 4, 1921 to Cletus and Willie Mae Kennedy and raised in Belmont, Mississippi. She married Don W. Baughman in 1943 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Before she retired, Sheryl worked as a Quality Control Supervisor for J.M. Woods of Waco. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church on Bagby Avenue and a member of the UMW. She was also active with the Bluebirds in the Girl Scout organization. Sheryl loved spending time with her daughter, family and friends and she thoroughly enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. She was also an avid animal lover. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a brother, Paul Kennedy. She is survived by her loving daughter, Vicky Jordan of Waco; sisters, Peggy Hutcheson and husband, Harold of Belmont, Mississippi; and Ida Mae Harris of Birmingham, Alabama; brother, L.N. Kennedy and wife, Helen of Memphis, Tennessee; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A very special thanks to Dr. Richie and the caring nursing and aide staff at Providence Hospital. If Sheryl were here to speak to us, she would remind each of us to be patient with one another, to laugh and be kind to each other every day and never pass up an opportunity to be kind to and love the animals entrusted to our care.
