Shirley Ann Groppe September 22, 1935 - September 3, 2013 Shirley Ann Groppe of Robinson passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at Sodalis Elder Living in Waco. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 6, at St. John United Church of Christ in Robinson with the Rev. Scott Spence officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 5, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Ann was born September 22, 1935, in Waco, Texas, to Payne, Sr. and Lucille Hallmark. Ann married Oliver Groppe on August 12, 1961. She retired from Robinson I.S.D. after 20 years of service. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Robinson, where she played the organ and was a member of the church choir. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Dorothy Davis; and two brothers, Richard and Payne, Jr. She is survived by husband, Oliver Groppe of Robinson; two sons, Gerald Groppe and wife, Rene, and Greg Groppe and wife, Vicki, all of Robinson; three wonderful grandsons; and one beautiful great-granddaughter. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John United Church of Christ or Sodalis Elder Living.
