Shirley Silliman Farrow passed away Sunday, November 25, 2018. Services will be 3:00 p.m., Friday, November 30, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home with Rev. Ted Tsitsilianos officiating. Burial will follow on Saturday at Whitney Memorial Park. Shirley was born March 14, 1930, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Eugene Lincoln and Marion Gleason Silliman and reared in Appleton, Wisconsin. Shirley attended Lawrence College of Appleton and was graduated from North Texas State University, and earned a graduate degree from Stephen F. Austin University. A lifelong educator, she worked at Cedar Hill ISD, Duncanville ISD, Northlake Community College, and El Centro Community College. She enjoyed quilting, traveling, playing Bridge, and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her eldest son, Scott. Married for 69 years, she is survived by her husband, George, originally of Dallas, and most recently of Hewitt, Texas; a daughter, Debra Farrow and friend, Jerry Medina of Whitney, Texas; a son, Douglas Farrow and his wife, Rebecca, of Rockwall, Texas; a daughter, Sherry Logusch and her husband, Eugene, of Ballwin, Missouri; and six grandchildren, Zachary, Jared, Rachel, Nicholas, Alexander, and Elena.
