Shon Ross Boice

Shon Boice, 85, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Grapevine, Texas.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Waco Memorial Park Cemetery in Robinson, Texas.

Shon Ross Boice was born on February 25, 1939, to Reba Cathey and Arvil Gray Ross in Snyder, Texas. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Education with a major in Political Science from Baylor University. Shon dedicated nearly 30 years to teaching in Waco ISD. Her passion for teaching, combined with her nurturing nature, allowed her to foster a love of reading in her students. Shon was an avid reader throughout her life, sharing this joy not only with her students but also with her family.

Known for her Southern cooking, Shon’s baked goods were beloved by her family and friends. She also enjoyed playing games and cards, a hobby she passed down through several generations. Above all, Shon cherished family gatherings and celebrations, taking immense joy in bringing everyone together.

Shon was preceded in death by her parents, Reba Cathey and Arvil Gray Ross; and her daughter, Elizabeth Boice-Hill.

She is survived by her daughter, Alessia Brown; son-in-law, JD Brown; granddaughter, Jillian Brown; daughter, Cathey Briscoe; granddaughter, Arden Meyer and her husband, Jordan Meyer; great-grandsons, Lochlan Meyer and Watson Meyer; and granddaughter, Brittany Straubel.
