Simon Alex Bulko of Waco passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the Waco VA Medical Center. Burial with Military Honors will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 25, at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. Simon was born July 15, 1925, in Poltava, Ukraine. He was a survivor of the Nazi work camp in Hannover. He came to the United States in 1949 and joined the U.S. Army in 1950. Simon served in Europe during the Korean War, was a member of the Intelligence Services and was awarded a Purple Heart. He received his BA in Biology from Baylor University and his BS in Pharmacy from the University of Texas. Simon worked as a pharmacist for 30 years in several Texas cities.
