Stanley Lundin

July 19, 1916 — May 19, 2003

LUNDIN, STANLEY Stanley Lundin, age 86, of Lorena passed away Monday, May 19, 2003 at a local hospital. Graveside services will be held at 10am Tuesday, May 27 at Lorena Cemetery with Danny Niedeken, Lorena UMC pastor officiating. Arrangements are through Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Stan was born July 19, 1916 in Chicago to George and Nellie Lundin. He attended school in Chicago and thereafter enlisted in the Army and served in the Pacific Theater. Stan was later stationed at James Connally Air Force Base in Waco, where he met and married the love of his life, Bonnie Ashenhust of Lorena, February 7, 1946. Stan was a talented carpenter and worked throughout his life as such for builders in the Waco area. Many Parade of Homes had his special touch. He was a member of the Lorena Volunteer Fire Department, the 4F Club, Lorena Cemetery Association, American Legion, and was a devoted and faithful member of the Witness Class and Lorena United Methodist Church. After his retirement, Stan’s “job” was his church. He went there daily to see if any type work needed to be done, and if so he would do it. Preceding him in death was his wife, Bonnie, and brother, Arnold Lundin. Survivors include nephew, Richard Lundin and wife, Beth, of California, many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Honorary pallbearers are The Witness Sunday School Class. Special thanks go to his many caregivers: The staffs at Providence Health Center, Royal Manor, Dr. John Speckmiear and the staff at Hillcrest Clinic-Midway, and his devoted friends and pastor. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lorena United Methodist Church. The family invites you to leave a message or memory at www.wilkirsonhatchbailey.com by selecting obituaries.
