Sue Fair June 10, 1936 - March 7, 2014 Sue Braumiller Fair, longtime Waco piano teacher and gracious and loving Mother and Grandmother, was embraced by our Lord and Savior and welcomed into the realm of our Heavenly Father on Friday, March 7, 2014. Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 11, at Austin Avenue United Methodist Church, 1300 Austin Avenue. Rusty Kwast will officiate. Her burial at Oakwood Cemetery will precede the service in a private family memorial. Sue was born June 10, 1936, in Texarkana, Texas to Walter and Myrtis Braumiller. After graduation from high school, she attended and graduated from North Texas State University with a degree in Music, where she befriended and collaborated with renowned pianist Van Cliburn. Pursuing her passion for the piano, she moved to Waco where earned a Master's Degree in Music from Baylor University. It was at the soda fountain at the old Baylor Drug Store on the corner of Fifth and Speight that she met a young Army captain and attorney, Ted Fair, who she later said "could charm the birds out of the trees". They married in 1958, and settled into a duplex on the corner of 26th and Waco Drive, now the site of Kim's Restaurant. Ted and Sue's pursuit of life added value to the lives of many people during their sojourn on Earth, particularly to their two sons, Walt and Will, who are now left with cherished memories of family life in Waco during the '60's and '70's. Sue influenced the lives of hundreds with her gentle instruction in piano and taught Sunday School to 8th graders for many years at Austin Avenue Methodist Church. She served as President of the Waco Music Teachers Association and suffered through countless piano recitals at the Federation Clubhouse. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her friends and former students added much richness to her life and many wonderful memories that she shared often. She always put her family and friends needs before her own. Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Ted, in 1995. She is survived by her sons, Walt Fair and wife, Denise Fair; Will Fair and wife, Carolyn Fair; grandchildren, Caroline Katherine Fair of Dallas, Brooke Huttig Fair Siegmund and husband, Mark Siegmund of Lawton, Oklahoma, and Mary Margaret Fair and Georgia Grace Fair of Waco. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. Honorary pallbearers will be Joel Adam, Brian Aynesworth, Tate Christensen, Brian Hobart, Bill Kosub, Todd Moore, Charlie Rigney, and Larry Wickman. The family invites you to leave a message or memory in our "Memorial Guestbook" at WHBfamily.com. Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey
