Susan Lenamon Neville, 75, completed her earthly journey on December 31, 2023.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home in Waco, with Reverend Tommy Bye officiating. A reception will follow immediately after, where the family invites you to visit.
Susan was born March 2, 1948, in Waco, Texas, to Dorothy and W.B. Lenamon. Raised in Waco, she graduated from Richfield High School in 1965. She attended University of North Texas and later Baylor University, where she graduated in 1970 with a B.A. in Education. From 1967 to 1979 Susan was married to Shepherd Spencer Neville III, with whom she had two daughters. She was involved in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, the Junior League of Waco, served as PTA president of Lake Waco elementary and many other volunteer roles in her daughters’ lives.
Susan and her girls moved to Dallas in 1981, where she worked at the SMU School of Business while raising her daughters. She also wore many other professional hats over her lifetime. These included teaching, real estate, and various endeavors as an accomplished businesswoman. She remained in Dallas through 1994.
Starting a new chapter in life after having raised her two daughters, Susan relocated to California. There she enjoyed the beautiful climate and living near the ocean. One of Susan’s many passions included beautifying her living spaces. She was also a gifted musician, enjoying singing and piano. Most central to her life, she found fulfillment in her spiritual growth and leading a heart-centered life.
Susan returned to her native Texas in 2020 to be closer to her grandson and her roots. She passed into her eternal life on New Year’s Eve at her home in Bee Cave, Texas, with both daughters present. Susan radiated love, goodness, and a grateful heart. Her greatest legacy will be her gentle spirit and a smile that lit up a room.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and W.B. Lenamon, and her eldest sibling, Billy Lenamon.
She is survived by her daughters, Christi Neville and Caroline Neville; her grandson, Shepherd Neville; and her four brothers, Bernard Lenamon, Larry Lenamon, Ronnie Lenamon, and Jerry Lenamon, along with their respective families.
In honor of her life, the family kindly invites you to share a memory on Susan’s “Tribute Wall” at www.WHBfamily.com. Flowers for her service are also welcomed and greatly appreciated.
