Susie McCall Jenkins Susie McCall Jenkins, 94, of Waco, died Thursday, June 21, 2001, at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center. Services will be held at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque Blvd, at 9:30 AM, Saturday, June 23rd with Rev. Dan White officiating. Burial will be held at Oakwood Cemetery. Mrs. Jenkins was born February 12, 1907 in Nacogdoches, Texas to James Wiley McCall and Anna Foote McCall. She spent most of her childhood in San Augustine, Texas and later her family moved to Liberty, Texas where she graduated from High School. She attended Baylor College in Belton, later named Mary Harden Baylor. She married Roy Olin Jenkins on July 4, 1931. Mrs. Jenkins has been an active member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church in Waco since 1931 where she most recently volunteered with the International Neighbors program. She was an active member of the Hamilton House, the Historic Waco Foundation, and the Sterling C. Robinson Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Olin Jenkins, in 1983, her siblings: James McCall, Bernard McCall, Merle Abshier McCollum, and her son-in-law Dan Swenke. She is survived by her daughter, Sue Ann Swenke; three grandsons, Steve Swenke and his wife Candy of Waco, Ken Swenke and his wife Jana of Dallas, Kevin Swenke and his wife Merrill of Dallas and three great grandsons, Cole Swenke, Grant Swenke and Ryan Swenke. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials made to Hillcrest Community Hospice, 3215 Pine Avenue, Waco, Tx 76708.
