Syan Cristiona Marquez

Syan Marquez, 22, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Temple, Texas. Services will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 15, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, with Pastor Ruben Andrade officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, December 14, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. The family will gather from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, after the burial, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Parish Activity Center for food and fellowship. Syan was born and raised in Waco. She was a member of University High School’s class of 2017 and studied at McLennan Community College. She worked as a waitress at Lolita’s, where she was beloved by many customers. Syan also worked as a customer service representative at a local telecommunications center. She enjoyed helping others, coloring, and music. Manicures and long car rides also brought her joy, and she loved farm animals, shopping, and cooking. Syan is survived by her father, Edgar Marquez; stepmother, Susie Marquez; mother, Sandra Castro, sister, Laurissa Marquez; sisters, Izabella Marquez, Marissa Sedillio, Natlee Castro, and Elexis Morales; brothers, Matthew Marcus Marquez, Edgar Marquez, Jr., Rudy Sedillio, Dominic Sedillio, Julius Sedillio, and Eddie Morales; sister-in-law, Bianca Perez; significant other, Alan Becerra; mother-in-law, Vicky Azua; father-in-law, Victor Azua; grandparents, Petra Brown, Natividad Castro, and Wanda Castro; aunts and uncles, Celina Wrzesinski, Joshua Wrzesinski, Brandi Martinez, Lorenzo Martinez, Heather Chung, J. Natividad Castro, and Janie Castro; and cousins, Marisol, Alyssa, Madison, Adrianna, Jeremiah, Ciera, Joseph, Selestino, Sylvia, Valorie, Fabian, J, Anyah, Analiyah, Jayden, and Aliyah.
