Sylvia F. Balderas, known as Nina, of Waco, Texas, passed away Monday, March 11, 2024.


The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at St. Francis on the Brazos, in Waco, Texas. There will be a visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, with Rosary following at 7:00 p.m., in the Chapel at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home.


Sylvia was born August 2, 1970, in Waco, Texas, to Connie Delgado and Julian T. Nava. She went on to have seven beautiful children of her own. In her professional life, she served as a very loving CNA for years at Hillcrest Hospital. She later married her husband, Jose Balderas Yepez. Nina was very ambitious, and she opened her own business, a bar called La Pa Changa, where she enjoyed her time dancing with family and friends. She didn’t stop there, she started another business, alongside her husband, Jose Balderas Yepez, J and B Trucking. She loved driving her dump trucks, shopping, and helping anyone she could. She adored all her grandchildren and loved each of them very much. She also loved all of her animals and she was very proud of her Ranch!


She was preceded in death by her mother, Connie Delgado; and her father, Julian T. Nava; her son, Adrian Villarreal; and her brother, Daniel Delgado.


Nina is survived by her husband, Jose Balderas Yepez; her daughters, Serena Aburto and husband, Rojelio Aburto, Inez Rodriguez and husband, Eliah Rodriguez, Lucia Martinez and husband, Isais Martinez; her sons, Mario Martinez and the mother of his children, Vanessa, Martin Villarreal, and Julian Villarreal; her grandchildren, Noah, Marayah, Micheal Martinez, Isaiah Aguilar, Leilani Balderas, Araceli and Yesenia Martinez; as well as her sisters, Yolanda Rojas, Victoria Ramos, Rosemary Lopez; her brother, Sammy Nava; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.


The pallbearers will be Martin Villarreal, Jose Balderas Yepez, Rojelio Aburto, Nicholas Delgado and Noah Martinez.
