T. B. Rutherford, Jr. March 13, 1926 - June 26, 2011 T. B. Rutherford, Jr. of Waco passed away Sunday, June 26, 2011. Services will be 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 29, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. Kip Osborne officiating. Burial will follow at Billington Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, June 28, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. T. B. was born March 13, 1926, in Bellmead, Texas, to T.B. and Bertha Weempee Rutherford, Sr. He graduated from La Vega High School in 1943, and attended Texas A&M, where he played football as a freshman on a championship team. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps, working with electronics on airplanes, stationed in Japan. After graduating from Baylor University in 1953, he went to work with Montgomery Wards as an auditor, working in Chicago, Illinois, and Kansas City, Missouri. He returned to Waco and became president of Clifton Simpson Furniture Stores, along with his wife, Darlene, who was the store manager and buyer. Afterwards, he had a long career as a business accountant. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Darlene Perry Rutherford; daughters, Elaine Rutherford Anderson of Temple, and Linda Sue Rutherford of Seguin, TX; five grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; three sisters, Ruth Sholl, Doris Commander and Joann Simpson and husband, Bob; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Bryan Johnson, Adam Blackwell, Shawn Martin, Walt Friedeck, Mike Lee, James Whiteis, Wade Martin, Fred Blackwell, Conner Johnson, Spencer Martin, Adam Huntsman, Gary Simpson, Samuel Johnson, Kody Wilson and Brandon Bryant.
