Tennie Aline Duecy July 5, 1913 - July 24, 2006 Aline Duecy of Waco, passed away Monday, July 24, 2006 at Providence Hospital. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 27 at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Art Torpy officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, July 26 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Aline was born July 5, 1913 in Brandon, TX in Hill County to Robert E. Lee and Hallie Corry Gunter. Aline and Mike Duecy were married in 1942 and he preceded her in death in 2005. She graduated from the Providence Hospital School of Nursing in 1934 as an RN and graduated from Baylor University with a Masters Degree. She was Director of the Hillcrest Hospital School of Nursing from 1957 – 1960 and following her nursing career she taught in Waco School for 17 years, until she retired in 1976. After retiring, she spent many hours doing genealogy research. She was a member of the local Genealogy Society as well as the Henry Downs Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a nurse during WWII and held the rank of 1st Lt in the U.S. Army. Aline was a member of Austin Avenue United Methodist Church in Waco. She is survived by her son, Patrick Duecy and wife, Susan of Woodway and her daughter, Sheila Sargent and husband, Gordon of Austin; and her two grandsons, Michael Duecy and wife, Leigh of Buda, TX and Colin Duecy of San Marcos. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Catherine Center or the charity of your choice.
