Teresa Aristea Sanchez

Our beloved mother and sister, Teresa Aristea Sanchez, 76, of Austin, went home to rest with our heavenly Father on, Thursday, January 26, 2017. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 30, 2017 at St. Francis Catholic Church, Fr. Ricardo Mejia officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m., Sunday, January 29, 2017, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home Chapel. Ms. Sanchez was born, in Elm Mott, TX on September 3, 1940. She married Roberto (Cuate) Moreno Sanchez on July 9, 1966, in Waco. She was a retired seamstress and nanny. Ms. Sanchez enjoyed gardening, dancing, collecting elephants, drinking coffee with her cheese cake and pan dulce, and trips to Las Vegas. She was a member of Waco Missions Club and St. Francis Catholic Church. Teresa is preceded in death by her husband of 31 years Roberto (Cuate) Moreno Sanchez, her parents, Frutoso and Ventura Martinez, two brothers Pete and Serapio (Chuck) Martinez. Survivors include daughters, Matilda Sanchez-Vichique and husband, German and, Melanie Martinez and husband, Peter, all of Austin; Granddaughter Genesis Vichique of Austin; brother, Gilbert “Gil” Martinez of Waco sisters, Leonarda Martinez and husband Ricky Smith and Pauline Gonzales of Waco, and Sandra LaManna of San Diego, CA.; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Germani Vichique, Peter Martinez, Ricky Smith, Genesis Vichique, Tammy Barrack, Gene Gilstrap, Tony Gilstrap The family would like to thank Hospice Austin for the care they provided over the last few months.
