Terrie Lanell Tipton

Terrie Lanell Tipton, 56, passed away June 6, 2018, at William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital, surrounded by her family. Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 a.m., June 11, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. A graveside service and burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery at 12:00 Noon. Terrie was born in Lexington Kentucky, but she only claimed that during basketball season. She spent much of her early life in Corpus Christi, where she achieved her degree in psychology as well as her barber’s license. Terrie was a jack of all trades. She met the love of her life, Michael, in 1995, and they married in 1999 on Islamorada in the Florida Keys. Terrie loved to quilt, make jams & jellies and cook. She always said “butter equals love.” Terrie was also an avid sports fan and on any given Friday she could be found cheering on her favorite local teams under “Friday night lights.” Terrie was preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn Wilson; and her grandparents, Owen and Velma Olive. Survivors include her husband, Michael Tipton; daughter, Sara Chaffin and husband, Travis; granddaughter, Carla Glass and husband, Josh; grandson, Dylan Susa; sister, Cara Trede and husband, Dave; brother, Shawn Wilson and wife, Melinda; as well as a multitude of loved nieces and nephews.
