THELMA DAY HALL Thelma Day Hall, 96, of Waco, died Friday, March 14, 2003 at a local nursing home. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2003 at Waco Memorial North with Rev. Dan White officiating. Arrangements are through Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mrs. Hall was born on January 22, 1907. She was the daughter of John W. and Della McAnelly Day, a pioneering family of Hico, Texas in Hamilton County. She moved to Waco at an early age, where she lived until her death. Thelma attended Waco public schools, as well as a local business school and McLennan Community College. She married Ernest O. Hall in 1925, and together they established and operated Hall Printing Company, a commercial printing firm, for more than 30 years. She was an executive and partner in the firm until her husband’s death in 1986, at which time she dissolved and sold the company. Thelma was an active member in many civic, charitable and religious organizations, including the Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of the Republic of Texas; charter member of Ridgewood Country Club; member of the Waco Symphony Council and Hippodrome Theatre Guild; life member of the National Parent Teacher Association and past officer of the local chapter; member of the Texas chapter of the National Arthritis Foundation; life member of the Nell Pape Garden Center and the National Council of State Garden Clubs, Inc.; international founding member of Phi Sigma Alpha; and a participating member of the Corps of Retired Executives CORE. She was very active in raising money and gathering food, clothing, furniture and other items for the benefit of local charities, including the Boy’s Club and Habitat for Humanity. Thelma was a member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church for more than 50 years and was a charter member of the Leah Sunday school class. She was a loving, dedicated wife, mother and friend to all who knew her. Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Joan Jody Jones. She is survived by her son, Don Hall and wife Mary Ann; son-in-law, Stanley Jones; grandson, Brett C. Hall and wife Kelly; granddaughters, Karen Treaccar and husband Tom, and Lisa Petter and husband Russell; great grandchildren, Tracey, Troy and Tricia Treaccar, and Joshua Mowdy; brother-in-law, Horace Huskerson; nephew, James Huskerson and wife Cathy; and great nephews, Tyler and Adam Huskerson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Columbus Avenue Baptist Church.
