Smith, Jeanette Mrs. Silas H. Jeanette Hobbs Smith, 79, of Waco passed away April 20, 2005 at a local nursing home. Graveside service will be Saturday, April 23 at 9:30 AM at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Patrick Ebner officiating. Rosary will be recited Friday, April 22 at 6:30 PM at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque. Mrs. Smith was born December 12, 1925 in Mount Calm, Texas to John D. and Audrey Parten Hobbs. She grew up in Mount Calm, graduating high school in 1943. She married Silas Howard Smith April 14, 1945 in Waco. Mr. Smith died January 25, 1986. Their only child, Howard M. Smith died in infancy, June 1, 1948. Mrs. Smith was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, St. Louis Women’s Society, St. Veronica’s Society, the Altar Society, a member of R. V. O. S. Waco Lodge #109 and National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She worked as cashier at Aerl Milk Plant for three years, as a receptionist/switchboard operator for Waco Garment Mfg. Company for eight years and as a sales representative for a Fraternal Insurance Company where she was a Fraternal Insurance Counselor. She is survived by three sisters, Margaret Harbour, Johnnie Fox and Betty Inlay all of Waco. Pallbearers will be Danny Cunningham, John Engelke, Billy Hauk and Jonathan Rovelo.
