STRANGE, THELMA TAYLOR Thelma Taylor Strange, 91 of Waco died Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at a local nursing home. Services will be at 11:30am Thursday, July 1, 2004 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Lon Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8pm Wednesday, June 30 at the funeral home. Mrs. Strange was born in Dallas March 25, 1913. She came to Waco as a child and attended Waco schools. She married Carl Ray Taylor in 1929. He preceded her in death in 1964. She then married Frank Strange in 1971; he preceded her in death in 1988. She was a longtime member of the South Waco Church of Christ, now known as New Road Church of Christ. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother to her children as well as all the neighborhood children. Survivors include daughter, Erma Sharpless and husband, C.C. of Hewitt; son, T. R. Taylor and wife, Sue of Waco; 6 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Michael Williams, Larry Williams, Jeffrey Williams, Kirby Hyden, Jr., Chuck Viladevall and Bobby Haddock. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
