Theresa Woodward Cross September 22, 1911 - May 14, 2009 Theresa Woodward Cross of Westcliffe, Colorado, formerly of Waco, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2009. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 21, at Columbus Avenue Baptist Church with Dr. Joseph C. Cross officiating. Burial will follow at Bosqueville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Theresa was born September 22, 1911, in Bosqueville, Texas, to Robert and Julia Woodward. She graduated, at the age of 14, from Chapman Ranch High School, and from UMHB and University of Houston. She taught school for 40 years, worked in Cub Scouts, a member of her church choirs and was supportive of several mission activities. Theresa was a longtime member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church in Waco. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis Clephane Cross; her son, Robert W. Cross; grandson, Robert M. Cross; four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her son, Dr. Joseph Cross and wife, Gloria, of Westcliffe, CO; and her daughter, Mary Cross Wright and husband, David A., of Tyler, TX.; six grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Columbus Avenue Baptist Church Missions or the University of Mary Hardin Baylor.
