THOMAS E. GARDNER Thomas E. Gardner, age 82, passed away October 13, 2004. Services will be at 3:30 P. M. Monday, October 18, 2004 at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Jimmie Johnson officiating. Masonic graveside services at Robinson Cemetery under the direction of the Waco Masonic Funeral Command Visitation with the family will be Sunday , October 17, 2004 from 4 to 6 P. M. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Mr. Gardner was born November 9, 1921 in Carrizo Springs, Texas. He was valedictorian of his La Pryor High School Class. He served with the FBI and volunteered for service with the U. S., Army in the European Theatre as an M.P. for three years. He graduated from Baylor University with a BA and MA in Music Education and taught for many years in the Waco Independent School District. Thomas was a 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, a member of Waco Lodge 92 AF & AM, a DeMolay Conclave, a Red Cross of Constatine, Royal Order of Scotland, a member of Bob Scott Sojourners Chapter 146, and a member of York Rite Bodies. Thomas served the Presbyterian Church as choir director, deacon, elder and Sunday school teacher. He enjoyed the opera, musical theatre and all things beautiful. Survivors are his wife, Jenny Margaret Barnes Gardner of Waco; brother, Bruce Gardner of Austin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Eldon Sims, Craig Sims, Maxey Parrish, Bill Holland, Dr. Elmer Duncan, Kenneth Howard, Bruce Gardner, M. E. O’Neill, and all his Masonic Brothers. In lieu of flowers the family request you make rememberances to the Scottish Rite Childrens Hospital in Dallas, Texas or the American Cancer Society.
