Thomas L. Barger September 15, 1933 - November 30, 2008 Tom Barger of Hewitt passed away Sunday, November 30, 2008, after a courageous battle with congestive heart failure. Services will be at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 3, at Central Presbyterian Church with Rev. Charles Packard officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 2, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Tom was born September 15, 1933, in Columbus, Ohio, to Curtis and Dorothy Barger. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army followed by 27 years of dedicated service with Household Finance. Tom enjoyed a second career at Lake Waco Montessori School, where he took great pleasure working with special needs children. He was an active member of Central Presbyterian Church in Waco where he sang in the choir and served as usher. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Curt Barger; and two sons, Tom Barger, II and Billy Lindsey. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Ann Barger of Hewitt; two sons, Karl Wayne Barger and wife, Karen of Flower Mound; Bobby Lindsey and wife, Cynthia of Houston; two daughters, Sue Sowder and husband, Bob of Waco and Mary Ann Wood of Burleson; daughter-in-law, Jan Barger of Waco; sisters, Jan Bicello and husband, Bob of Florida; and Pat Hoffmeister and husband, Joe of Ohio; 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and a host of friends and loved ones. Pallbearers are Will Lindsey, Andrew Lindsey, Jonathan Barger, Brian Taylor, Brad Griffith, Jacob Sowder, Jackie Elliott and Jon Welk. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lake Waco Montessori Special Needs Program, 3005 Edna Avenue, Waco, 76708.
