Thomas Peña, Jr. May 26, 1929 - March 15, 2016 Thomas Peña, Jr. of Waco passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 19, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Father Benjamin Magnaye as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation begins at 6:00 p.m., with Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 18, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Thomas was born May 26, 1929, in West, Texas, to Thomas and Lucia Peña, Sr. He worked for the City of Waco and was a security guard. Thomas was in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He was a dear husband and a loving father and grandfather, and will be missed by all his family. Thomas was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gilbert, Manuel and Fred; and sisters, Hortencia, Ophelia and Hope. He is survived by his wife, Ophelia Peña; daughters, Sandra Diaz, Yolanda Peña, Yvonne Borak and husband, Kevin, Lorraine Kelly and husband, John, Marilyn Field and husband, Willie, and Nancy Peña; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his sister, Mary Sillers. Pallbearers are Stuart Castro, Trey Field, Joshua Wilson, Donny Peña and Manuel Lewis Peña. Honorary pallbearer is Tony Gonzalez. Memorials may be made to Southern Care Hospice.
