January 19, 1920 — February 10, 2004

GREGORY, THURMAN Thurman A. Gregory, age 84 of Woodway died Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at a local nursing home. Services will be held at 10am Friday, February 13 at Waco Memorial Mausoleum Chapel. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8pm Thursday, February 12 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Thurman was born January 19, 1920 in Bosque County to Charlie and Mary Gregory. He was a graduate of Waco High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II and Korean conflict. He was honorably discharged in 1945 and returned to Waco to work at the Veterans Administration Hospital until his retirement in 1977. Thurman also spent many years as an active member of The Shriners. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Lois and his brother, Herschel Gregory. Survivors include his sister, Alyeda Harrell of Bosqueville, daughter, Barbara Storm of New Mexico, son Glenn A. Gregory and wife, Gale of Speegleville; grandchildren, Morgan Muhlhausen and husband, Nathan “Kevin” of Wharton, Texas and Cody James Gregory of Speegleville; as well as numerous close friends, neighbors and other relatives. The family would like to extend profound thank yous for the care given by the 7th floor staff at Hillcrest Hospital. Memorials can be made to Hillcrest Hospice.
