Tomasine Carter Sanders

Tomasine Carter Sanders, age 79, passed away December 2, 2017, at home. Services will be 1:00 p.m., December 9, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home with Todd Pickett and Bert Mercer officiating. Tomi was born in San Angelo, Texas. She grew up in Sterling City, Texas, and San Angelo. She married Billy Foy Sanders on October 1, 1960. Tomi was an elementary school teacher at China Spring Elementary until retirement. She was passionate about oil painting, arts and crafts, and gardening. She was a member at Brookview Church of Christ in Waco. Tomi was preceded in death by her father, Herman Maxwell Carter; her mother, Rosemary Nichols Carter; her brother, Herman Maxwell Carter Jr.; her nephew, Herman Maxwell Carter III; and her husband, Billy Foy Sanders. Survivors include her daughters, Heather Sanders Payne and Holly Sanders Pickett and husband, Todd Pickett; her grandchildren, Sarah Payne, Courtney Payne, Mackenzie Pickett and Brady Pickett; and her niece, Amy Carter Kemp.
