Toxey W. Cathey passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, July 7, 2021. Visitation was held on this past Thursday, July 22. .A Graveside Service will be held this Thursday July 29, at Oakwood Cemetery with Dr. Steve Mansen officiating. Toxey was born June 3, 1941, in Waco, TX, to Tox and Catherine Cathey. He graduated from Baylor University in 1962 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He worked in the banking industry for over 50 years including Citizens National Bank, The First National Bank of Waco and Wells Fargo Bank and for several banking firms before retiring to private investment management. He was devoted to his family, friends, and many organizations. Toxey’s pleasant smile, friendly handshake, intelligence and kindness will be missed by all. His love of the outdoors, Baylor sports, fishing and his fondness of his miniature donkeys will bring a smile to many. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert O. Cathey. He is survived by his cousins, John Cathey, Anne Ray, Jimmy Odell and Janet Zsohar. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Waco Meals on Wheels, Fuzzy Friends Shelter or the Baylor Libraries.
