Treyonne Cowan October 17, 1930 - January 25, 2314 Treyonne Joy Russell Cowan of Waco passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014, at Providence Hospital. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 28, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Pastor Amos Humphries officiating. Burial will follow at Moody Cemetery. Treyonne was born October 17, 1930, in Eddy, Texas to S.J. and Rosa Lee Russell. She attended East Junior High and Waco High School. She joined Turner Street Baptist Church when her family moved to Waco and later was a long-time member of Park Lake Drive Baptist Church. She worked at Monnigs Department Store before starting a family. She and John W. Cowan were married on November 14, 1953, and enjoyed almost 60 years of marriage. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and two brothers, John V. and James Russell. She is survived by two daughters, Cindy Queen and Kathy Cowan, both of Waco, TX; grandson Geoff Queen and wife, Jennifer, of Austin, TX; sister, Vineta Melton of Mesquite, TX; sister-in-law, Juanita Russell and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers are Bob Russell, Charlie Williams, James Burroughs, Cecil Self, Don Highfill, and Dr. Manuel Edquist. Memorials may be made to Park Lake Drive Baptist Church Children's Department.
