Twyla Kay Corley Moody passed away September 5, 2017, following a 10-year battle with cancer. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 8, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey with Pastor Austin Nickel of First Lutheran Church of Waco officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 7, at Wilkirson Hatch Bailey. Twyla was born in Waco, Texas, on September 23, 1954, to Louise LaVerne Gassaway Corley and Herman Medford Corley. She grew up in Waco and attended LaVega ISD. She married Harlan Moody on September 28, 1974. Twyla worked for Amsco, Gencov Institutional Food, Waco Hallmark stores, and Waco ISD as a classroom aide for 24 years at Alta Vista Montessori and Lake Air Montessori. Twyla was a lifelong Christian who loved the children she served in the classroom. Twyla was preceded in death by her parents and step-mother, Irene Corley; brother, Medford Eugene Corley; and sister, Martha Ann Corley Lockwood. Twyla is survived by her husband of 43 years, Harlan Moody; son, Terry Moody of Waco; sister, Mary L. Corley Hodde of Waco; brother, Clifford Corley of Waco; and granddaughters, Miranda and Kayla Moody of Lubbock.
