Twylla Maddux

MADDUX, TWYLLA J. Twylla J. Maddus, 70, of Waco, died Friday, January 28, 2005 at her residence. Services will be held Monday, January 31, 2005 at 2:00pm in the sanctuary at Columbus Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Durham officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Wilkirson-Hatch Bailey funeral home. Mrs. Maddux was born Twylla J. Clopton on June 30, 1934, in Jefferson, Iowa. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1952. She moved to Garland, Texas in 1963 where she worked for Texas Instruments for several years. Later, she worked for many years in the banking and retirement planning business. She was married to Wayne E. Maddux in 1953 and together they raised two children, John Maddux of Waco and Mari Liles of Austin. She lived in Waco for the past two years and was a member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, two sisters, one niece and one nephew. Survivors include daughter, Mari Liles and husband Rick of Austin; son, John Maddux and wife Andrea of Waco; 4 grandchildren, Lindsey Liles, Ashley Liles, Kelly McCarver and husband Jeremy, and Kyle Maddux. Other survivors include 4 brothers, two sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Columbus Ave. Baptist Church, 1300 Columbus Avenue, Waco, TX 76701, to benefit the Waco Christmas Celebration, a music ministry of the church.
