OBITUARY FOR MRS. BENNIE VADA MCBRYDE Mrs. Bennie Vada McBryde died Monday, April 22nd at her home. Services will be at 1:30 P.M. Tuesday, April 23, 2002 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 1124 Washington, with Dr. J. W. Sellers and Rev. Frank R. Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Mrs. McBryde was born June 26, 1917 in Pearl, Texas to the late Jim and Myrtle Ballard She graduated from Pearl High School. She taught private piano in several schools. In 1955 she moved to Gatesville and taught piano in her home. She loved gospel singing and played for quartets in Central Texas. On May 4, 1960 she married the Rev. Bennie McBryde, a Methodist minister. She devoted her life in helping him as they served churches in Central Texas. It was a joy to her to work with the youth and also visit the elderly. She loved people. They retired in 1977 in Waco. She was a member of Lake Shore United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Bennie C. McBryde of Waco; a devoted niece, Betty Jo Wilson and her husband Clyde; sister-in-law, Emma Ballard. Pallbearers: Clyde Wilson, Keith Long, Stanley John, Clint Kelly, Ross Fryer and Robin Cole. Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society or Providence Hospice.
