Vaughndane Vedy Mayfield

MAYFIELD, VAUGHNDANE VEDY VaughnDane Vedy Mayfield, age 75, of Waco died Monday, April 21, 2003 at her residence. Services will be held at 1pm Wednesday, April 23 at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Janne Alro Osborne officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North. Visitation will be from 6-7pm Tuesday, April 22 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mrs. Mayfield was born December 24, 1927 in Temple. She was reared and educated in Levelland and graduated from Texas Tech University in Lubbock. She married J. Graves Mayfield September 1, 1948 in Waco. They owned and operated Waco Packing Company in Waco over 40 years. Mr. Mayfield preceded her in death September 6, 1989. Mrs. Mayfield was an active member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church and Daughters of the Nile. Survivors include mother, Ethel Mae Wright; daughters, Karen Mayfield, Sondra Waits and husband, Kenneth, all of Waco, and Teri Muse and husband, Tom of Argyle; son, Michael Mayfield of Waco; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brother, Wallace Wright and wife, Sara of Waco and one nephew. Pallbearers will be Michael Henry Mayfield, Ashley Wayne Mayfield, Lee Smith Muse, Greg Jones, Travis Blasingame, and Ralph Reynolds, Jr. Memorials may be made to Shrine Hospitals.
