Velma Collins March 17, 1908 – June 2, 2007 Velma May Collins, 99, of Waco passed away Saturday, June 2, 2007. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at Waco Memorial Park with Dr. Bill Austin officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2007 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Velma May Collins was born on March 17, 1908. She was a lifelong resident of Waco, TX and retired from Monnig’s Department Store in 1973. She was preceded in death by husband, Samuel T. Collins and lifelong friends George Truett and Ollie Belle Rogers. She is survived by Goddaughters, Linda Kay Rogers-Tucker and husband, Richard of Mandeville, LA and Patricia Ann Rogers-Bowman and husband, Tom of Carrollton, TX; grand Godchildren, Michael Thompson of Dallas, TX, Jeania and Dennis Christian and Dareyl Crockett of Waco; and caring neighbors.
