Vera Mac Coleman

VERA COLEMAN Vera Mac Coleman, 79, of Waco, died Sunday, December 16, 2001 at a local hospital. Services will be at 3:30p.m. Tuesday, December 18th at WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY Bosque Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Rev. Russell Dixon officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, December 17th from 6:00 – 8:00p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Coleman was born January 25, 1922 in Waco, Texas. She married Robert H. Red Coleman on January 10, 1938 in Waco. She retired from the McLennan County Sheriff’s Department after 17 years of service. Mrs. Coleman was a member of the Police Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Lillie Blackburn, her sisters, Dorothy Blackburn Bishop and Inez Blackburn Scott, her brothers, Lonnie and Floyd Blackburn and one grandson, Rusty Coleman. Survivors include her husband Robert H. Red Coleman; sons, Robert D. Coleman and Morgan of Moffat, Gary D. Coleman and Jean of Midlothian, Steve Coleman and Christole of Mt. Calm, Dennis Coleman and Gina of Waco and Scott Coleman of Waco; eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be missed and not forgotten.
