CLARKE, VERLIE J. Verlie J. Clarke, age 88, of Waco died Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at a local hospital. Services will be held at 10am Saturday, November 8 at Memorial Christian Church, Jacksboro, Texas with Rev. David Story officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Jacksboro, Texas. Mrs. Clarke was born in Conway, Arkansas September 2, 1915 and attended local schools. She married Jack Clarke September 26, 1942 in Demascus, Arkansas. She lived in Wichita Falls 16 years and College Station 34 years before moving to Waco July 1, 1996. She was a member of Richfield Christian Church and formerly very active in the First Christian Church of Wichita Falls and First Christian Church of Bryan. She loved to sing in the church choir. She was preceded in death by parents, Henry C. Kelley and Augusta Martin Kelley and brothers, Aubrey Kelley and Wilburn Kelley. Survivors include husband, Jack Clarke of Waco, daughters, Charlotte Ann Hackley and John of Jacksboro and Sandra Westmoreland and John of Waco, four grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Richfield Christian Church of Waco and Memorial Christian Church of Jacksboro.
